George Bush Intercontinental Airport Drainage Master Plan

Client:
City of Houston Airport System (A&S is the H&H consultant to S&B Team)
Major Tasks by A&S:
  • Convert existing HEC-1 models to HEC-HMS for all 7 watersheds.
  • Convert HEC-2 models to HEC-RAS for 27 on-site ditches.
  • Update the HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS models to reflect the current developed conditions
  • Filed verification of existing structures and detention ponds.
  • Review and update the airport drainage design criteria.
  • Prepare summary report to document non-compliance situation

 

Ellington Field Airport Drainage Master Plan

Project Duration:
Ongoing project - July 2007 to present

City of Houston Airport System

Major Tasks by A&S:

  • Investigate alternatives for flood reduction in Horsepen Bayou (B104-00).
  • Perform HEC-HMS analysis for flow diversion from B104-00 to B104-05.
  • Perform HEC-RAS backwater profile for B104-05 and diversion channel.
  • Design and analyze 2-12'x 6' diversion box along State Highway 3.
  • Analyze the storm sewer capacity in Landside of the airport.
  • Prepare CLOMR for floodplain reduction in Horsepen Bayou.
  • Prepare opinion of construction cost estimates for all alternatives.
  • Prepare Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for drainage system

 

Stuebner Airline Road Improvement Project

Project Duration:
Ongoing project - July 2005 to present
Client:
Harris County (A&S is the H&H consultant to PBS&J)
Major Tasks by A&S::
  • Perform SWMM model analysis to evaluate the 100-year storm hydraulic grade line (HGL) along 10,000 feet of 7' x 7' box storm sewer and a regional detention pond.
  • Perform hydraulic analysis to estimate the roadside ditch capacity and to estimate the quantity of street overtopping flows.
  • Evaluate two alternate locations for detention ponds, perform timeline simulate of HGL in the pond, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Prepare Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for drainage system.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Harris County

 

HCFCD - On Call Engineering for Brays Bayou Regional Detention Pond Construction Plans

Harris County Flood Control District
Major Tasks by A&S:
  • Prepare construction plan for 6 segments of regional detention pond along Brays Bayou for Project Brays.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings.
  • Prepare quantity takeoff and opinion of construction cost estimates.
  • Perform QC/QA for quality control of the design plans.
  • Coordinate with HCFCD on project managemen

 

South Lake Subdivision Drainage Master Plan

April 2007 to July 2007

Major Tasks by A&S:
  • Perform SWMM model analysis to evaluate 3 inter-connected detention ponds for mitigating flows from the 300 acres developments.
  • Application of HEC-1 and HEC-RAS models for No-Adverse-Impact analysis to Gums Bayou.
  • Application of Small Watershed Hydrograph Method and Reservoir Routing Method to estimate the required storage volume of the on-site detention pond system.
  • Perform hydrology and hydraulic analysis for both ultimate conditions and the Phase 1 development conditions.
  • Prepare PER and No adverse impact statement for the proposed development

 

Greenwood Utility District Water Distribution System Analysis

Project Duration:
July 2006 to July 2007
Client:
Harris County Greenwood Utility District
Major Tasks by A&S:
  • Perform hydraulic analysis for Greenwood U.D. and Parkway U.D. water system by using KYPipe 2000 model.
  • Prepare the population and water use projection for the next 20 years.
  • Analyze the system with a separate feeding line to Parkway U.D.
  • Analyze the system for compliance with TCEQ requirements on system pressure, storage tank capacity, pumping capacity, source of water supply, and fire protection.
  • Evaluate the current contract with the City of Houston for surface water supply vs. the future demands.
  • Establish the time table for constructing a new pump station in Lennar Tract for future expansion
